Discussion

High pressure has returned to the Mid-Atlantic region and will control our weather into the weekend. The blizzard that is raging in the middle of the country will try to head to the East over the next few days, but it will have a hard time due to a blocking pattern in the upper atmosphere. The threat remains, however, for some snow around here early on Sunday and small accumulations are even possible. The greatest chance for the snow will be across Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia Counties as compared with, for example, Upper Bucks and Montgomery Counties. Colder air is likely to move into the Mid-Atlantic by mid-week with temperatures holding primarily in the 30’s on Wednesday.
