There are still some significant disagreements between the computer forecast models for the Sunday/Monday time frame, but the potential does exist for a powerful storm to affect the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast US with heavy rain along the coast and snow in the interior higher elevations of central Pennsylvania and New York. The latest European model run continues to favor the idea of a strong storm hugging the Mid-Atlantic coastline while the GFS model is more progressive and has the storm track farther east. The best chance for heavy rain from this potential powerhouse storm is across the Delmarva Peninsula, eastern PA, New Jersey and points north and east including much of New England. Colder air will wrap in behind the storm early next week and that could actually help to produce some accumulating snow in the highest elevations of Pennsylvania and New York. Separate from this potential early week storm, a frontal passage will cause some occasional shower and thunderstorm activity during the Saturday afternoon and nighttime hours. Stay tuned.
