2:30 PM | Could be some strong storms later tomorrow afternoon and evening

Paul Dorian

Discussion

Our current hot weather pattern will likely end with a bang later tomorrow as a cold frontal system presses in from the west. A band of showers and thunderstorms is likely to form in advance of the front on Friday afternoon and some of the storms may become quite strong containing brief, heavy rainfall and gusty winds. The most likely timing for the possible showers and thunderstorms will be in the 3-9 PM time period, and then there will be some clearing in the overnight hours. While it’ll stay warm this weekend, humidity levels will drop and both days will feature some sunshine. Another cold front will approach from the west on Monday and it too may cause some showers and thunderstorms around the Mid-Atlantic region. Following that frontal system, even cooler weather is likely next Tuesday and Wednesday.
