Discussion
A significant coastal storm will produce heavy rain in the area as we head into the Mother’s Day weekend. Low pressure will form tomorrow in the eastern US and then track along a frontal boundary zone towards the Mid-Atlantic coastline while intensifying. There could be some light shower activity during the day on Friday, but a soaking rain is likely from tomorrow night into Saturday night as a result of the strong coastal storm. Sunday, Mother’s Day, will feature slight improvement, but lingering showers will still be possible and it will remain on the cool side of normal. Much warmer weather will blast into the Northeast US by the middle of next week.
