Discussion
This latest stretch of heat and humidity looks like it will peak in intensity during the next couple of days with highs in the middle 90's and heat indices closer to 100 degrees (i.e., how it feels given the high humidity). It'll stay hot this weekend as well, but likely not quite as bad as today and Friday with more clouds and multiple chances of showers and storms. In terms of potential relief, one cold front will approach the region today; however, it’ll tend to weaken and stall out and not provide any relief to the I-95 corridor. Another cold front is likely to drop through the area early next week and it looks like that one should bring noticeable relief to the region.
