Discussion
The current stretch of mild weather will come to a peak today with a breakout of sunshine and temperatures jumping to the upper 60’s. A cold front, however, will push through the region later in the day and this will lead to tumbling temperatures during the overnight hours and set the stage for a wintry weather event from later tomorrow into Friday. During the day on Thursday, there can be a bit of rain, ice and/or snow in the region, but the more widespread and heavier precipitation will begin early tomorrow night and in the form of snow. In fact, the snow can accumulate a few inches before a possible changeover to sleet later in the night. A wintry mix of snow, ice and rain is likely on Friday with an additional small accumulation of snow and ice quite likely and an impact on the Friday AM commute.
