Despite a large area of surface high pressure over the Southeast US, there will be the threat of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and for the next several days. In addition, the heat and humidity will be quite noticeable over the next few days with highs in the 90’s on a daily basis. This hot and humid weather pattern is likely to last well into next week.
