3:15 PM | Interesting late-week possibilities

Paul Dorian

Discussion

A cold frontal system will slowly work its way through the Mid-Atlantic region later this week and there is the threat that two separate low pressure areas will ride along this boundary zone. One such low will likely cause a period of rain around here on Thursday and this first low will usher in colder air for Friday and Saturday. Odds are now increasing for a second (coastal) storm to affect the Mid-Atlantic region early this weekend and that storm will likely encounter enough cold air to raise the threat for snow in parts of the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. In fact, the very latest computer forecast runs of both the GFS and European models suggest the possibility of a coastal storm to start the weekend and it’ll be awfully chilly for this time of year. Stay tuned for updates over the next few days for these interesting late-week possibilities.
