3:45 PM | Light wintry mix still possible towards morning

Paul Dorian

Discussion

A moisture-laden storm over the Deep South is headed our way with the bulk of its precipitation expected to fall here in the form of rain from late tomorrow afternoon into early Friday. In fact, most Mid-Atlantic locations will likely receive a total rainfall amount of between 0.5 and 1.0 inches by noon on Friday. The potential problem with this particular system; however, is that it may send a little moisture our way well ahead of the main event, and temperatures will be near freezing when this advance moisture arrives here towards morning. As a result, there is the chance for a light wintry mix of snow, sleet and/or freezing rain from about 2am to 9am in southeast PA (to the N and W of I-95) and northern MD. By later tomorrow, temperatures will move well above freezing and the steadier, heavier rain will then move in by tomorrow night.
