12:20 PM | Heavy rain threat for the morning rush hour

Discussion
Light rain will continue off and on for the next several hours and then the rain will generally increase in intensity late this afternoon and evening. The greatest rainfall, however, is likely to fall late tonight and early tomorrow just in time for the morning rush hour up and down the I-95 corridor from DC to Philly to NYC. Specifically, rain is likely to come down hard between about 4 and 10AM as a cold front slowly swings through the region. A strong thunderstorm can also accompany this frontal passage late tonight or early tomorrow morning. The rain clears out of here by afternoon and it’ll stay mild for awhile albeit very windy with gusts past 30 mph. A gradual cooling trend will occur this weekend with the coldest air arriving on Sunday night - possibly accompanied by snow showers. Finally, an interesting radar loop over State College, PA late yesterday: http://m.uploadedit.com/bae/132754725240.gif.
