Lines of thunderstorms have formed from north-central Virginia to northern Pennsylvania and they are traveling to the east at a pretty good clip. These storms are likely to intensify over the next few hours and present a threat for damaging winds, heavy rain and possible hail to the I-95 corridor from DC to Philly to NYC during the late afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures have climbed to the mid 90’s in many Mid-Atlantic locations and winds are brisk out of the southwest ahead of a slow-moving strong cool front. That southwest wind is "blowing out" at the I-95 big league ballparks this afternoon and it is contributing to the "home run weather" App index which is a 10 out of 10 in Philly and 4 home runs have already been hit in today's game. The front won’t clear the coast until tomorrow morning so the threat for showers and storms will continue until tomorrow morning; especially, to the south and east of the big cities. Less humid air will move in tomorrow night and Tuesday.
