6:00 PM | Potential for some dense fog later tonight and early tomorrow

Paul Dorian

Discussion

Conditions are setting up for some dense fog to develop later tonight in much of the Mid-Atlantic following today’s widespread rainfall. The combination of wet grounds, an atmosphere still full of moisture, and a warm front advancing slowly to the north will set the stage for fog to develop later tonight that could reduce visibilities under a quarter mile in spots. Drizzle may accompany the fog and another scattered shower or two cannot be ruled out in the overnight hours. The fog and drizzle will likely start the day on Wednesday in many Mid-Atlantic locations and there can be scattered showers and thunderstorms later in the day, but the main weather story tomorrow will be the uncomfortable warmth and humidity.
