A disturbance that produced snow around here last night can bring us more snow showers this morning and temperatures should be confined to the upper 30’s for afternoon highs. It’ll remain somewhat unsettled during the next couple of days with the possibility of additional snow shower activity. The weather settles down at mid-week and a warming trend brings temperatures back to the 60’s by the end of the week.

High pressure to our north expanded into the region on Sunday following the departure of the storm system that produced lots of rainfall around here on Saturday. This high pressure system will control the weather today, but then an approaching frontal system will bring us the chance of showers by mid-week.
On another note, the moon peaked as full earlier today setting the stage for it to reach its new moon phase in two weeks. This next new moon phase will allow for the conditions needed for the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th, when the moon will be in between the sun and earth and thus block the face of the sun from view.

The next couple of days will remain on the mild side across Colorado with an upper-level ridge of high pressure still in control. It turns cooler on Sunday as an upper-level trough moves into the region and then colder by the end of the weekend. In fact, accumulating snow will return as a strong possibility in the Denver metro area by Sunday night as low pressure heads this way combined with an influx of colder air.

It stays mild today, but more unsettled with a good chance of afternoon and evening showers. The weekend will start off a bit cooler, but end up rather mild and there should be some sunshine on both days. Showers and thunderstorms will likely become rather widespread late Monday into Tuesday across the Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys and we’ll have to monitor the possibility for some severe weather activity.

A heavy rain event is headed to the Mid-Atlantic region as strong low pressure pushes to a position just off the coast by early Saturday. The rain will develop later tonight and continue through much of Saturday, heavy at times, with two to as much as four inches on the table by tomorrow evening… watch for localized flooding. On the backside of the storm, N-NW winds will become very strong from late Saturday into Sunday with gusts to 50 mph possible. A very nice day is in store for northern Alabama with plenty of sunshine and temperatures climbing into the lower 70’s. It stays mild on Friday, but become more unsettled with the chance of showers and that shower threat will continue on Friday night. The weekend, however, is shaping up quite nicely with at least some sunshine expected on both days and temperatures to the 60’s on Saturday and near 70 degrees on Sunday.

Sunshine should be prevalent during each of the next three days and temperatures should climb into the lower or middle 60’s for afternoon highs. A cold front pushed through the region last night and its passage has unleashed another colder-than-normal air mass to the Mid-Atlantic region. Temperatures today will be confined to the low-to-mid 40’s for afternoon highs and then fall into the mid-to-upper 20’s for overnight lows. After a chilly day on Friday, rain should develop late tomorrow night – perhaps mixed with snow initially - and periods of rain are likely on Saturday and some of it can be heavy. The culprit of this soaking rain event will be strong low pressure that moves to a position just off the Mid-Atlantic coastline by early Saturday. Following the storm, another chilly air mass will arrive in the Mid-Atlantic region on Sunday and there will again be a stiff flow of air out of the northwest.
