6:30 AM | *A relatively cool and damp start to the weekend...a better finish*

Paul Dorian

Weak high pressure will build down into the region today from the northeast and it will help to contribute to a relatively cool next couple of days with plenty of clouds in the Mid-Atlantic. While showers are possible later tonight, Saturday morning and mid-day, the second half of the weekend looks to be rain-free and some sunshine is likely to return on Sunday. Temperatures on Saturday will likely hold in the 60’s for highs, but then reach the low-to-mid 70’s on Sunday with the expected return of some sunshine.

7:00 AM | *Low pressure meanders just off the coast today keeping it cloudy and damp around here...relatively cool weekend*

Paul Dorian

Slow-moving low pressure will meander offshore today, and its close proximity will result in plenty of clouds for the region and some light rain or drizzle at times. Weak high pressure is to build down from the northeast on Friday and it’ll play a role in cooler-than-normal conditions expected here for the weekend. While there can be plenty of clouds this weekend and perhaps some passing showers on Saturday, neither weekend day will be a washout and there should be plenty of rain-free time to go along with those cool conditions.

7:00 AM | *Plenty of sunshine here today as low pressure meanders far enough to our east...relatively cool conditions this weekend**

Paul Dorian

Slow-moving low pressure will meander offshore today, but it should be far enough away to allow for sunshine in the region which will help to boost temperatures to well up in the 70’s by later this afternoon. Weak high pressure will try to build down from the northeast on Friday and it’ll play a role in cooler-than-normal conditions expected here for the weekend. While there can be plenty of clouds this weekend and some shower activity on Saturday, neither weekend day should be a total washout with plenty of rain-free time to go along with those cool conditions.

7:00 AM | *Plenty of sun today to boost temperatures into the middle 80's for afternoon highs*

Paul Dorian

Drier air has pushed into northern Alabama and it should inhibit shower activity and result in plenty of sunshine for the Huntsville metro area. Given the expected copious amounts of sunshine, temperatures should climb into the middle 80’s for afternoon highs. The next disturbance to impact the area will bring us a renewed chance of showers and thunderstorms on Friday and then temperatures should climb into the low-to-mid 80’s in its wake on Saturday and Sunday.

7:00 AM | *Slow-moving low pressure to keep us cool and damp into tomorrow...more rain likely this weekend*

Paul Dorian

Slow-moving low pressure will slide to our south and east during the next 24 hours and produce cool, damp conditions in the I-95 corridor with an onshore flow of air. Weak high pressure is to push in on Friday providing a break in the action, but another slow-moving low will bring us a threat for rain on Saturday and Sunday as the overall active weather pattern continues across the nation.

The overall pattern turns warmer and drier beginning on Thursday with a decreased chance for rain.
