High pressure will shift off the coast later today and this system will be followed by our next weather-maker...a strong cold front. This next frontal system will likely bring us a new round of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon/early evening and some of the storms can be on the strong-to-severe side. Nice weather should return on Sunday and continue right into the middle of next week.

High pressure to our northeast will continue to control the weather around here for the next couple of days. As a result, temperatures and humidity levels will stay quite comfortable as we head through the work week. By the early part of the weekend, this high pressure system will slide offshore and it’ll turn warmer and more humid again and there will be a good chance of showers and thunderstorms as a cold front approaches. Nice weather should return for the latter part of the weekend and early part of next week.

After the very unsettled weather of recent days, high pressure will build into the region later today and it should help to produce a few decent days around here. By later Thursday, this high pressure system will exist offshore and a “warm front/cold front” duo will bring us another threat of showers and thunderstorms by the weekend.

The frontal boundary zone that contributed to our very wet weekend will slowly shift offshore today, but it will be close enough to allow for the possibility for more showers and thunderstorms and some of the rain can be heavy at times. High pressure will build into the area for the next few days and the weather will be dry and warm.

Low pressure now near the Mid-Atlantic coastline produced heavy rainfall and strong thunderstorms in the area yesterday and last night and it will move away today; however, the weather will certainly remain unsettled this weekend. A stalled out frontal boundary zone is acting as a pathway for low pressures and a second system is coming this weekend which is likely to bring more significant rainfall to the region and possible strong thunderstorms. The weather for the early and mid parts of next week is looking quite nice with comfortable temperatures along with plenty of sunshine.

Today will be the last for awhile in which high temperatures can reach the 90 degree mark as an important pattern change is about to take place in the Mid-Atlantic region and the result will be torrential rainfall and possible strong-to-severe thunderstorms. A storm system will push towards the Mid-Atlantic coastline over the next 12-24 hours with rain and slow-moving thunderstorms pushing in later today and continuing into early Friday. Some of the rain will be heavy at times from this low pressure system and some of the thunderstorms can reach strong-to-severe levels with gusty winds, flash flooding potential, and even isolated tornadoes.
On top of that, this type of weather pattern featuring a stalled out frontal boundary zone might just lead to a repeat performance over the weekend with more soaking rainfall possible associated with a second low pressure system - perhaps Saturday night into Sunday. The strong likelihood for copious amount of clouds and occasional rainfall over the next several days will help to contribute to a reduction in high temperatures so that they will be confined to the 80’s from tomorrow into next the middle of next week.

A frontal system has stalled nearby and this boundary zone will act as a pathway for low pressure systems during the latter part of the week and weekend. As a result, the weather will remain very unsettled around here with multiple chances of showers and thunderstorms. This type of weather pattern is likely to produce drenching rainfall at times and there can be thunderstorms on the strong side during the next few days which can generate flash flooding and gusty winds. As far as temperatures are concerned, the combination of copious amounts of clouds and occasional rainfall will help to contribute to a reduction in high temperatures to the 80’s from Friday into early next week.

Today is another hot day in the Mid-Atlantic region and tomorrow should feature high temperatures at or above the 90 degree mark, but a storm system pushing in from the Deep South at the end of the work week is likely to bring soaking rainfall to the area and it will help to break the back of this current heat wave. This low pressure system is likely to produce showers and thunderstorms in the local region from late tomorrow night into the day on Friday with heavy rain possible at times and some of the thunderstorms can be on the strong side. In addition, this type of unsettled weather pattern featuring a stalled out frontal boundary zone might just lead to a repeat performance over the weekend with more soaking rainfall possible associated with a second low pressure system. The strong likelihood for copious amount of clouds and occasional rainfall at the end of the work week and upcoming weekend will help to contribute to a noticeable reduction in temperatures so that highs are quite likely to be confined to the 80’s in coming days.

A frontal system will stall nearby to our south later today and this boundary zone will act as a pathway for low pressure systems during the latter part of the week and weekend. As a result, the weather will remain quite unsettled around here and there will be multiple chances for showers and thunderstorms as we head to the end of the week and weekend - and some of the rain is likely to be heavy at times. As far as temperatures are concerned, they will slacken off by Friday as we'll be dealing with lots of clouds and occasional rainfall. In fact, temperatures should hold in the 80's on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and even into the early part of next week.
