The weather pattern will get pretty interesting next week to coincide with the beginning of the month of December and it will include some significant temperature and height anomalies across North America for this time of year. High pressure ridging in the upper part of the atmosphere will intensify dramatically next week across Canada at the same time colder-than-normal air sets up across the south-central US and there will be plenty of strong energy aloft. The transition to this possible colder and stormy weather pattern in the US (and warm weather pattern across Canada) could be preceded by a significant rain event in the eastern states as we end the month of November.

A chilly air mass that pushed into the Tennessee Valley on Tuesday will begin to melt away today and a warming trend will push high temperatures to the 70 degree mark by the time we get to the weekend. In fact, the weekend is looking quite nice for this time of year with sunshine likely on both days and highs at or slightly above the 70 degree mark. The chance for showers will rise during the early part of next week as a frontal system approaches the Tennessee Valley.

Tropical Storm Eta pushed through the state of Florida yesterday and is now located off the Carolina coastline and moving farther away. Around here, it’ll stay on the cool side today despite some afternoon sunshine and temperatures tonight will drop well down into the 40’s for overnight lows. The weather this weekend should turn out to be pretty decent for the middle of November and another cool frontal system will usher in a cool air mass for the first half of next week.

A slow-moving cool front pushed through the region yesterday and it’ll turn cooler today across the Tennessee Valley. Temperatures late tonight and again late tomorrow night are likely to drop well down into the 40’s under mainly clear skies. High pressure will control the weather this weekend with comfortable conditions for the middle of November.

A slow-moving cool front will push into the area today and likely to result in additional showers across the Tennessee Valley…maybe a thunderstorm or two as well. Clearing will take place on Thursday following the passage of the cool front and temperatures will remain rather comfortable for this time of year. High pressure will control the weather at the end of the week, but showers could return later in the weekend.
