7:00 AM | *Winds stay noticeable today, but it'll get a tad milder than yesterday after a cold start*

Paul Dorian

Much colder air moved into Florida on Tuesday in the wake of a strong cold frontal passage and highs yesterday were confined to the 50’s and overnight temperatures dropped into the 30's - the coldest of the season so far. It remains on the cool side for much of the remainder of the week and another cold front is likely to pass through the region by the latter part of the weekend.

7:00 AM | ***Noticeably colder around here today in the wake of yesterday's strong cold frontal passage...coldest so far this season in the overnight hours***

Paul Dorian

Much colder air has moved into Florida in the wake of yesterday’s strong cold frontal passage and highs today are likely to be confined to the upper 50’s and overnight lows will be in the 30's - the coldest so far this season. In addition, northerly winds will be quite strong making it feel even colder than the actual air temperature. It remains cool for much of the remainder of the week and another cold front is likely to pass through the region over the weekend.

10:45 AM (Monday) | *Powerful storm system impacts the eastern third of the nation…significant snow in portions of the Ohio Valley…colder pattern emerges post-storm in the central/eastern US*

Paul Dorian

A powerful storm system is churning northward today through the Appalachian Mountains and is having an important impact on a large part of the eastern third of the nation. The DC-to-Philly-to-NYC corridor has had steady and heavy rainfall this morning and the afternoon will present the possibility of some severe thunderstorm activity. Meanwhile, it is cold enough in the Midwest for snow to fall at mid-day and portions of the Ohio Valley will receive significant snowfall during the next 24 hours or so. An especially hard hit region may be northeastern Ohio where more than a foot of snow is possible in localized areas later tonight and Tuesday. This storm system is coming at the front end of an overall pattern change that will bring persistent colder conditions to the central and eastern US as we transition from the month of November to December.

7:00 AM | ***A powerful storm system pushes a strong cold front across the area with some heavy rainfall and strong thunderstorms...much colder behind the frontal passage***

Paul Dorian

A powerful storm system is pushing northward today from the southeastern states towards the eastern Great Lakes and it is sending a cold front towards the east-central part of Florida. A line of heavy showers and strong thunderstorms will pass through the area later this morning and into the mid-day and it’ll turn noticeably colder later tonight following the passage of the front. In fact, temperatures on Tuesday are likely to be confined to the 50’s for highs and a stiff northerly wind will make it feel even colder than the actual air temperature.

12:30 PM (Tuesday) | ***The overall weather pattern becomes stormy and colder for the central and eastern US as we flip the calendar to December***

Paul Dorian

The weather pattern will get pretty interesting in much of the US as we transition to the month of December and it is likely to include some significant temperature and height anomalies for this time of year. High pressure ridging in the upper part of the atmosphere will intensify dramatically next week across Canada at the same time colder-than-normal air sets up across the central and eastern US and there will be plenty of strong energy aloft. The transition to this colder and stormy weather pattern in the central and eastern US (and warm weather pattern across Canada) could begin with a major storm system in the Monday/Tuesday time period (i.e., last day of November and first day of December). A second storm could threaten the east coast at the end of next week and that system should have more in the way of cold air to work with in the eastern states.

Paul Dorian

A nice weather pattern is setting up for the state of Florida and we’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine each day from tomorrow through the upcoming weekend. In addition to the sunshine, temperatures should be rather comfortable with daily highs in the 77-80 degree range for the next several days.

1:00 PM (Monday) | *An interesting weather pattern setting up for the early part of December*

Paul Dorian

The weather pattern will get pretty interesting next week to coincide with the beginning of the month of December and it will include some significant temperature and height anomalies across North America for this time of year. High pressure ridging in the upper part of the atmosphere will intensify dramatically next week across Canada at the same time colder-than-normal air sets up across the south-central US and there will be plenty of strong energy aloft. The transition to this possible colder and stormy weather pattern in the US (and warm weather pattern across Canada) could be preceded by a significant rain event in the eastern states as we end the month of November.

7:00 AM | *Still quite windy next few days, but first half of next week looks calmer and comfortably warm*

Paul Dorian

It’ll remain quite windy around here as we end the work week and right through the upcoming weekend, but it does turn calmer and quite pleasant for the first half of next week. High pressure to our northeast will continue to promote a persistent onshore flow for the next few days, but it’ll lose influence by the time we begin the holiday shortened work week.

7:00 AM | *Stiff NE winds to continue into the weekend*

Paul Dorian

A strong cool front passed through the region on Tuesday and it ushered in dry air for central Florida and it also set off a windy weather pattern for the region that will stick around right through the upcoming weekend. In fact, winds can gust to 25 mph or so during the next several days; primarily, from a northeasterly direction. Moisture will try to return this weekend and the chance for scattered showers will be on the rise on both Saturday and Sunday.
