It stays quite mild today in the northern part of Alabama, but cooler air will push in for tonight and Saturday on the heels of a frontal passage. A warming trend this weekend will bring temperatures back to the 60’s on Sunday and perhaps to a flirtation with 70 degrees on Monday afternoon. After that, a strong front will move into the Mississippi/Tennessee Valleys and the result is likely to be occasional showers and maybe even a strong-to-severe thunderstorm around here by the middle of next week.

On the backside of the front, a cold air mass will move in for Friday night and Saturday and winds will be a noticeable factor making it feel even colder than the actual air temperature. After a chilly day to end the weekend, it turns much milder in the Mid-Atlantic region during the first half of next week with 60 degree highs on the table by Tuesday and Wednesday.
