This will be a rather chilly week in the Mid-Atlantic region with multiple nights featuring overnight lows in the 30’s in some of the far N/W suburbs and even some patchy frost . The week starts off with high pressure in control and temperatures on the cool side and a strong cold front will pass through late Wednesday. The mid-week frontal passage will usher in a reinforcing chilly air mass to the Mid-Atlantic region that’ll stick around into the end of the week.

7:00 AM | *Unsettled conditions continue across the Tennessee Valley for the next few days*

The next few days will be rather unsettled across the Tennessee Valley with a series of frontal systems adding to the overall instability in the atmosphere. The threat of showers and thunderstorms will exist today, tonight, tomorrow and even into the day on Sunday at which time much cooler air arrives. After high temperatures in the 70’s both today and Saturday, they may be confined to the upper 50’s for the early part of next week.

6:30 AM | *Still on the cool side today...weekend looks decent*

A cool front will approach the region later today and bring with it a chance of showers later tonight. The front slides through the region early tomorrow and high pressure will build in its wake. The end result of this pattern should be relatively mild and dry weather on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in the Mid-Atlantic region.

7:00 AM | *A frontal system meanders across the Mid-Atlantic region today with much warmer on its south side*

A frontal system is meandering around the Mid-Atlantic region with big differences expected today from its north side (chilly) and south side (warm). The DC metro region should get into the warmer air later today with afternoon temperatures likely climbing well up in the 70’s. Another frontal system approaches the area later tomorrow bringing with it a chance of afternoon and evening showers. High pressure edges in during the upcoming weekend likely resulting in dry and mild conditions for the weekend and early part of next week.

7:00 AM | **Dramatically colder next couple of days with the chance of rain and/or snow showers...maybe even a period of steadier snow**

Much colder air pushed into the region in the overnight hours and it’ll stick around for the next few days and it’ll be quite unsettled with rain and/or snow showers at times. There could even be a period of steadier snow later Friday into Friday night and a thunderstorm can mix into the picture as well. The weather will change dramatically again late in the weekend with drier and much warmer conditions returning for Sunday and Monday.
