7:00 AM | *Turns quite warm for tomorrow and especially on Thursday with highs on Halloween Day near 80 degrees*

Paul Dorian

High pressure remains in control around here for the next few days and a warming trend will bring afternoon temperatures well up in the 70’s on Wednesday and then to near 80 degrees on Thursday (Halloween Day). A cold front will cross the region by early Friday and bring with it the chance of a few showers from late Thursday night into Friday morning. High pressure will follow the late week frontal passage and should produce a nice, fall-like first weekend of the month of November (turn back the clocks early Sunday).

7:00 AM | *A strong cold frontal passage later Tuesday ushers in cold air for the midweek with rain and snow showers possible*

Paul Dorian

The new week starts off quite warm with well above normal temperatures and afternoon highs in the middle 70’s. A brief, but rather dramatic pattern change takes place with a frontal passage later Tuesday that will usher in cold air for the mid-week. Rain showers may initially accompany the transition to the mid-week cold and then, as cold air gets better established, the rain can change to snow in the higher elevation and the plains. Dry conditions and more seasonal temperatures should rule the day on Halloween (Thursday) with highs back to near 60 degrees.

One final note, there was some light rain at Philly International Airport (PHL) early Thursday morning, but the official measurement was only a trace. As a result, the consecutive day streak without measurable precipitation (0.01 inches or more) continues into today and has now reached 26 days. The record streak of 29 days without measurable precipitation was set all the way back in 1874 and it is in jeopardy.
