6:15 AM | **An extended stretch of unsettled weather to last through the Father's Day weekend and into the middle of next week...some of the rain will be heavy**

Paul Dorian

A cold front has dropped southward into the Mid-Atlantic region from southeastern Canada and it will stall out in close proximity later in the day. Several waves of low pressure are likely to ride along this nearly stationary frontal boundary zone during the next several days generating a stretch of unsettled weather around here from today all the way into the middle of next week. While there should be plenty of rain-free time during this extended time period, showers will be possible on each day from today through next Wednesday, thunderstorms can mix into the picture, and some of the rain will be heavy at times.

6:15 AM | *Very warm and humid next few days with a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms*

Paul Dorian

Humidity will be noticeably higher today as a more tropical airmass filters into the region with high pressure strengthening over the Gulf of America. This system will remain in that location for a few days and the result here will be very warm and humid weather along with a daily shot at showers and thunderstorms. The best chance for the shower and thunderstorm activity will come during the PM hours and given the high moisture levels, some of the rain can be heavy at times in this stretch of unsettled weather across the Tennessee Valley.
