6:15 AM | *Good chance of showers tonight with next frontal system...maybe a strong thunderstorm...winds a big factor on Tuesday*

Paul Dorian

After a chilly and unsettled start to the weekend, high pressure edged back into the region on Sunday and this system shifts offshore later today and a warm front will lift through the area. A strong cold front then pushes across the region from later tonight into early Tuesday and a secondary cold front crosses on Tuesday night.  Winds will become a noticeable factor on Tuesday following the initial frontal passage with gusts to 35 mph or so on the table from a west-to-northwest direction. It turns much cooler at mid-week with temperatures back to well below-normal levels, but much milder weather returns for the late week and especially for the beginning of the upcoming weekend.

6:15 AM | *Periods of rain today, tonight, and on Saturday and temperatures remain on the chilly side*

Paul Dorian

Wet and unsettled weather will stick around in the Mid-Atlantic region through the first half of the weekend and the colder-than-normal temperatures will remain as well. Waves of low pressure will produce occasional showers here this morning and then steadier, heavier rain from this afternoon into Saturday and total amounts can reach an inch or more which is welcome news in the still somewhat dry Mid-Atlantic region. High pressure will resume control later in the weekend and it should turn milder early next week; however, another strong cold front will usher in a chilly air mass on Tuesday night and Wednesday.

6:15 AM | *Periods of rain today, tonight, and on Saturday and temperatures remain on the chilly side...an outside chance for snowflakes to mix in at times*

Waves of low pressure will produce occasional showers here this morning and then steadier, heavier rain from this afternoon into Saturday and total amounts can reach an inch or more which is welcome news in the still somewhat dry Mid-Atlantic region. In fact, this air mass will be chilly enough that snowflakes can mix in at times from late tonight into early Saturday and accumulations are possible across higher elevation locations of northeastern PA.
