An energetic cold frontal system is working its way through the region this morning with residual showers and possible strong thunderstorms. Winds will pick up this afternoon as cooler, drier air arrives, but then another cold front will generate somewhat unsettled conditions on Saturday. As this next front arrives, the threat of showers will return as we begin the weekend and the winds on Saturday will become quite noticeable.
