The ingredients are coming together for a severe weather outbreak later today and tonight across the middle part of the country and there can be a repeat performance early next week. Much colder air has pushed into the region and there be rain and snow today with small accumulations possible on grassy surfaces in the Denver metro region. Temperatures will hold in the low-to-mid 40’s today for highs and then likely drop into the upper 20’s in the overnight hours with a hard freeze in many areas. A couple other notes, the dry streak continues across the Philadelphia metro region now with 31 consecutive days without measurable precipitation at PHL (Philly Int’l Airport). This is indeed a new record for consecutive dry days beating the old one of 29 days that was set way back in 1874.
